CAREER SUMMARY

Claire has gained extensive experience of construction throughout her career, working in client, consulting and contractor organisations.  Her first experience of construction was as an Engineering Technician for the consulting engineer Gibb Ltd in 1994.  After graduation, she joined Kier Southern as a Site Engineer and worked through to a Senior Engineer level before moving to gain further experience as a Design Team Manager for Warings Construction Ltd.  It was during this employment that Claire started her work within the field of business improvement and was seconded into their client BAA Ltd, to develop lean techniques within their supply chain.  Claire joined CLIP (Construction Lean Improvement Programme) in July 2007 and is continuing to gain and apply her experience in lean tools and techniques.

Her progression from a site engineer, through design management and into a project and supply chain improvement role has given her an appreciation of all aspects of project delivery, with a focus on cost and time reductions, aligned with quality improvements.

Claire built her knowledge and experience of improvement techniques through the adaptation and introduction of lean tools and techniques into her own organisation, suppliers and clients, working with all levels of people within the office and on site.

As part of the CLIP team, Claire is utilising her excellent communication, facilitation and coaching skills to work with organisations across the broad spectrum of the construction industry on improvement activities for individual projects through to management systems.

EXPERIENCE

Claire is an experienced practitioner of all aspects of lean improvement within the construction industry.  She has worked successfully with people of all levels within many construction organisations; working with customers on strategy, policy deployment and supplier development, in addition to detailed process improvements.
